With the 12.5 km mass start race in Annecy-Le Grand Bornand the biathletes completed their last World Cup before the well-deserved Christmas break.
At the top Elvira Oeberg from Sweden was unbeatable in mass start after her victory in pursuit.
In the end she won against Julia Simon from France with two misses and an advantage of 10.7 seconds. Just behind her the Russian Kristina Reztsova completed the podium with two misses and a gap of 12.1 seconds. For the long-time leader Dorothea Wierer it was only enough for fourth place.
Overall World Cup leader Marte Olsbu finished the last race of the season in sixth place.
Justine Braisaz, once again with one of the best run performances, finished 15th with five penalty laps. Ingrid Tandrevold from Norway finished 17th with four extra laps.
Vanessa Hinz in 22nd and Vannesa Voigt two places behind had nothing to do with the outcome of the race,
Denise Herrmann and Franziska Preuss decided not to start and were spared.
