The Norwegian Marte Olsbu Røiseland achieved her tenth World Cup victory in Östersund, Sweden, the fourth in a 10 km pursuit race. Starting from twelfth place she ran a tactically very smart race in perfect conditions, made up ground steadily and was able to rely on her good prone shooting. She only made one mistake in the first standing position. In the final round Røiseland had the necessary reserves to beat three competitors who were also clear in the last shooting. Also a strong performance delivered Anais Bescond from France starting from position fourteen with a clear shooting in second place ahead of her compatriot Anais Chevalier-Bouchet as podium third. Sprint winner Lisa Theresa Hauser, who made it through the rounds without any mistakes, finished fourth, 7.9 seconds behind Marte Olsbu Røiseland, but will travel to her home World Cup in Hochfilzen in the yellow bib as World Cup leader. Franziska Preuss finished fifth in the first pursuit race of the Olympic winter as the best German in the sprint race before. Second best German was Denise Herrmann in eighth place. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet from France finished twelfth despite 5 misses, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold from Norway 15th. Tiril Eckhoff started as 32nd and again missed four shots and finished only 28th with a gap of 2:39.8 minutes.

I am very happy about my victory today. Especially I am happy about my shooting, despite the one mistake. Because of that I was able to make up places steadily, which finally led to the victory. Now I know that I can still do it. ( laughs)

I was quite nervous today, but I was really looking forward to the race. Shooting zero four times and a fourth place is absolutely OK. Of course I would have liked to finish on the podium. But now I'm going to Hochfilzen as World Cup leader in YELLOW ... just amazing.
