In front of the home crowd in Östersund, the first World Cup victory in the women's 7.5 km sprint race went to 26-year-old local hero Hanna Öberg. The young Swede won without any mistakes in front of her competitors and relegated Anias Chevalier-Bouchet (FRA) and Marte Olsbu Røiseland (NOR) to the medal places. Hanna Öberg not only impressed at the shooting range, but also improved her running performance, which ultimately led to her 6th World Cup victory. Once again Justine Braisaz-Bouchet delivered a strong run performance and finished in an excellent sixth place with one penalty loop. Young Ida Lien from Norway was also convincing and finished 10th without any mistakes. Unfortunately, the performance of the favorites was disappointing once again. Dorothea Wierer (ITA) finished 23rd and Denise Hermann (DE) 25th. Tiril Eckhoff did not get into the groove in the second race of this winter and finished 28th with three penalties. Best athlete of DSV was once again Franziska Preuss with a good seventh place.

The spectators really cheered me on today, it was very nice to run in front of the crowd again. When you win a race in your own country, it's even nicer.

I'm satisfied with the race, but the one miss hurts. But I'm on a good path and know that I can still improve.

I don't know what it is, I am speechless and of course disappointed, I am at a loss for words.
