NEW YEAR'S JUMPING IN GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN!

Ryoyu Kobayashi is reaching for his second victory in the Four Hills Tournament.

At the turn of the year, as usual, the prestigious New Year`s Jumping in Garmisch - Partenkirchen (GER) started the new year.

The 25 - year old Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) was able to win the competition with 143 and 135.5 meters, in the end with a razor-thin margin. Thus he extended his lead in the overall ranking. 

From the German point of view Markus Eisenbichler caused joy. After he already won the qualification yesterday, he showed again today. In the end Eisenbichler missed the winner with a gap of only 0.2 points.

Lovro Kos from Slovenia completed the podium.

Norwegian Marius Lindvik finished fourth and thus remains in second place in the overall ranking of the tour, within striking distance. Countryman Havlor Egner Granerud made it to a good 8th place after a botched qualification.

On Tuesday, the third competition continues in Innsbruck, at the Bergisel.
