Heja Sverige! Samuelsson also triumphs in Östersund

After today's sprint victory of Hanna Öberg, a Swede also wins in men's 10 km. Sebastian Samuelsson could celebrate the second World Cup victory of his career with his victory today. A race full of suspense in which all three athletes on the podium came through without any mistakes. Also outstanding was the performance of Vetle Christiansen, who started with bib number 62, showed a great performance and was rewarded with second place ahead of his compatriot Johannes Thingnes Boe. Christiansen was able to achieve his best result in an individual race. Johannes Thingnes Boe completed the Scandinavian podium. Emilien Jacquelin came back impressively in fourth place who also showed a very fighting performance but missed one penalty loop. Simon Desthieux showed his strong performance level with a also penalty-free race in fifth place. Fabien Claude obviously also established himself among the world's best with sixth place, he shares the sixth place with Philipp Nawrath (DE). Nawrath has thus already secured his place for the Olympics, as he was able to achieve the standard. The newly integrated in the Norwegian team Sivert Bakken knew how to convince, as already the day before, with eighth place, ahead of his teammate Filip Andersen on ninth place. Both will not make it easy for the Norwegian coaches when it comes to the further squad planning. Alexander Loginov (RUS) finished tenth and still in the top 10. Tarjei Boe (NOR) finished twelfth, one place ahead of Jakov Fak from Slovenia.

Biathlon is simply like a lottery, once hell and then heaven again. Yesterday I was still far away, and today I win my second World Cup here. Simply great.

Sebastian Samuelsson

I knew that something was possible today, I pushed myself to the limit in the final lap, got everything out of myself and was rewarded with second place. My form curve is pointing upwards and I still have a lot to do this winter.

Vetle Christiansen

I got my chance here and I think I confirmed it with my two top ten results.
