On the second World Cup weekend in Nove Mesto (CZE) the men’s 10 km sprint race was the first event on the program.\u00a0The victory went to 28-year-old Quentin Fillon Maillet who succeeded with a flawless performance at the shooting range and a lead of 11.3 seconds against Tarjei Boe from Norway who was also without any mistakes. Quentin Fillon Maillet thus celebrates his second victory of the season and his first ever victory in a sprint race.\u00a0Lukas Hofer from South Tyrol managed the big surprise of the race by jumping to bronze place. For him it was the first podium of this season. The World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Boe did not finish beyond ninth place and weakened at the shooting range as he did recently.\u00a0His biggest opponent in the fight for the overall World Cup and also his team mate Sturla Holm Laegreid, finished fifth. Laegreid thus makes up some points in the fight for the big crystal globe.\u00a0Johannes Dale (8th) and Jakov Fak (10th) achieve positions in the top10. With Arnd Peiffer on rank 13, Benedikt Doll on rank 15 and Erik Lesser on rank 19 three DSV athletes managed to finish in the top20. Doll even made two mistakes in shooting, but he was able to make up some places due to his strong skiing performance. Roman Rees was also able to qualify for the pursuit race in 29th place. Alexander Loginov from Russia on 17th place and Vetle Christiansen (NOR) on 20th place were also able to finish in the top20 ranks.<\/p>\n

It feels good to finish as a winner, I was also able to recover very well during the days off.\u00a0Today again everything went well together, I had good skis and was very safe at the shooting range. I am very happy about my second victory of the season.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Erster Sprintsieg \u00fcberhaupt f\u00fcr Fillon Maillet<\/h6>\n

Am zweiten Weltcup-Wochenende in Nove Mesto (CZE) stand f\u00fcr die Herren zum Auftakt das 10 km Sprintrennen auf dem Programm.\u00a0Der Sieg ging dabei an den 28-j\u00e4hrigen Quentin Fillon Maillet, der sich mit einer makellosen Leistung am Schie\u00dfstand und einem Vorsprung von 11,3 Sekunden gegen den ebenfalls fehlerfrei gebliebenen Norweger Tarjei Boe durchsetzen konnte. Quentin Fillon Maillet feiert damit seinen zweiten Saisonsieg und seinen ersten Sieg in einem Sprintrennen \u00fcberhaupt.\u00a0Dem S\u00fcdtiroler Lukas Hofer gelang mit dem Sprung auf den Bronzeplatz die gro\u00dfe \u00dcberraschung des Rennens. F\u00fcr ihn war es das erste Podest dieser Saison. Der Weltcup-Leader Johannes Thingnes Boe kam \u00fcber Platz neun nicht hinaus, und schw\u00e4chelte wie schon zuletzt am Schie\u00dfstand.\u00a0Sein gr\u00f6\u00dfter Widersacher im Kampf um den Gesamtweltcup und sein Teamkollege Sturla Holm Laegreid, beendete auf Platz f\u00fcnf das Rennen. Damit macht Laegreid im Kampf um die gro\u00dfe Kristallkugel einige Punkte gut.\u00a0Johannes Dale (8.) und Jakov Fak (10.) erreichen Platzierungen in den Top10. Mit Arnd Peiffer auf Rang 13, Benedikt Doll auf dem f\u00fcnfzehnten Platz und mit Erik Lesser auf Rang 19 gelang es drei DSV-Athleten zu Pl\u00e4tzen in den Top20. Doll leistete sich sogar zwei Fehler im Schie\u00dfen, er konnte jedoch aufgrund seiner starken Laufleistung einige Pl\u00e4tze wieder gut machen. Auch Roman Rees konnte sich auf Platz 29 f\u00fcr das Verfolgungsrennen qualifizieren. Alexander Loginov aus Russland auf Platz 17 und Vetle Christiansen (NOR) auf Rang 20 konnten sich ebenfalls in den Top20-R\u00e4ngen platzieren.<\/p>\n

Es f\u00fchlt sich gut an als Sieger ins Ziel zu kommen, ich konnte mich in den freien Tagen auch sehr gut erholen.\u00a0Heute hat wieder mal alles gut zusammen gepasst, ich hatte gute Ski und war sehr sicher am Schie\u00dfstand. Ich freue mich sehr \u00fcber meinen zweiten Saison Sieg.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
