The first race of the day was won by the strong Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff who delivered the fastest time despite one penalty loop and deserved to be on the top of the podium. Then the ladies finished one after the other and in short intervals. Yuliia Dzhima from Ukraine finished second without a single miss. Also without a mistake at the shooting range Lisa Vitozzi from Italy fought her way back to the podium in the World Cup event. She was followed by Dzinara Alimbekava and Dorothea Wierer. Also clear was Norwegian Ingrid Tandrevold in sixth place, ahead of her compatriot Marte Olsbu Roiseland, who despite two misses in the prone position still managed to finish seventh. Best German was Franziska Preuss in eighth place with a solid performance. She went first into the cross-country skiing, delivered a good shooting performance with only one miss and so a great top ten place and a good starting position for the pursuit tomorrow was secured for her. Denise Herrmann, who competed in her first race after her break due to a flu infection, also showed a good performance and secured tenth place. In between the French Justine Braisaz-Bouchet also made one mistake. Tomorrow the best 60 from today’s sprint will start in the pursuit.

1

ECKHOFF Tiril

1+0

18:48.4

2

DZHIMA Yuliia

0+0

+9.3

3

VITTOZZI Lisa

0+0

+15.0

Foto: Soelzer via VOIGT Fotografie

After the two relay races today in Nove Mesto the sprint competition of women and men was on the agenda.
