The women’s 12.5 km mass start race ended with a real surprise on the last day of the Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka. What had already been foreshadowed in the last weeks and months in the World Cup was confirmed today in the Traglav Sports Center.\u00a0In spring-like temperatures the Tyrolean Lisa Theresa Hauser made her masterpiece and won the World Champion title with a brilliant performance, stayed four times clear at the shooting range and relegated the competition to the other medal ranks in the end.\u00a0The 27-year-old crowned her so far uniquely successful season with the gold medal and ensured a World Championship title for the Alpine Republic once again since 2009.\u00a0For her it was the third medal in the course of the World Championships in Slovenia.\u00a0Strong was also the performance of the athletes from Norway – with a gap of 21.7 seconds to the new World Champion, the silver medal surprisingly went to Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold just ahead of her friend Tiril Eckhoff, who could secure the bronze medal. Defending champion Marte Olsbu R\u00f8iseland in fourth place just missed a medal and could not defend her title from last year.\u00a0Best German was once again Franziska Preuss on sixth place.<\/p>\n

I can’t believe it yet. It’s just insane what happened today and I’m trying to enjoy it as much as possible now. It was already a successful season for me, but now I am standing there and I am World Champion.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mit einer echten \u00dcberraschung endeten am letzten Tag der Biathlon WM auf der Pokljuka das 12,5 km Massenstartrennen der Damen. Was sich schon in den letzten Wochen im Weltcup angedeutet hatte, best\u00e4tigte sich heute im Traglav Sports Center.\u00a0Bei fr\u00fchlingshaften Temperaturen machte die Tirolerin Lisa Theresa Hauser ihr Meisterst\u00fcck und gewann mit einer Glanzleistung den Weltmeistertitel, blieb viermal fehlerfrei am Schie\u00dfstand und verwies die Konkurrenz am Ende auf die weiteren Medaillenr\u00e4nge.\u00a0Die 27-j\u00e4hrige kr\u00f6nte mit der Goldmedaille ihre bislang einzigartig erfolgreiche Saison und sorgte seit 2009 wieder einmal f\u00fcr einen Weltmeistertitel f\u00fcr die Alpenrepublik.\u00a0F\u00fcr sie war es die dritte Medaille im Zuge der Weltmeisterschaften in Slowenien.\u00a0Stark war auch wieder das Auftreten der Athletinnen aus Norwegen – mit einem R\u00fcckstand von 21,7 Sekunden auf die neue Weltmeisterin ging die Silbermedaille \u00fcberraschend an Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold knapp vor Ihrer Freundin Tiril Eckhoff, die sich die Bronzemedaille sichern konnte. Titelverteidigerin Marte Olsbu\u00a0R\u00f8iseland auf Rang vier verpasste knapp eine Medaille und konnte ihren Titel aus dem Vorjahr somit nicht verteidigen.\u00a0Beste Deutsche war wieder einmal Franziska Preuss auf dem sechsten Platz.<\/p>\n

Ich kann es jetzt noch gar nicht glauben. Es ist einfach irrsinnig was heute passiert ist, und versuche das jetzt bestm\u00f6glich zu genie\u00dfen. Es war schon eine erfolgreiche Saison f\u00fcr mich, doch jetzt stehe ich da und bin Weltmeisterin.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
