After the successful World Cup days (2 weeks) in Oberhof, it is now time for the biathlon teams like Norway, France and Russia to move on to the next World Cup stop in Antholz ITA, where from next Thursday in the South Tyrol Arena another six races are on the program. After the victories in Oberhof, all three nations have traveled to the World Cup venue of 2020 with a good self-confidence and want to build on their successes. The men and women will each compete in an individual, a mass start and a relay race in Italy.<\/p>\n

Where in Antholz, in the South Tyrol-Arnea Alto Adige, the highest biathlon stadium in the World Cup, last year thousands of spectators in the stands had cheered the world champions, this year there is silence in the stands. This is because, as at all other venues, the World Cup will be held without spectators this year. Moreover, Antholz is the last World Cup stop before the World Championships in Pokljuka (SLO) in February, where medals will be given.<\/p>\n

The one challenge for the biathlon teams will definitely be, as every year, the altitude of the trails in the venue. This always means a particularly high physical strain for the athletes and in the preparation for the season it was not possible for the teams to complete a training camp at the appropriate altitude due to the travel restrictions. So it remains exciting which team will be able to adapt to it the fastest.<\/p>\n

What about the teams ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Norwegian Team Erlend Bjoentegaard has returned to the crew. The biathlete from Oslo, who recently had to sit out for a long time due to a persistent injury, showed good results in Oberhof last week and expects to be nominated in the team for the World Championships.<\/p>\n

With the results from both World Cup weeks in Oberhof, we are highly satisfied, and now try to show good races again in Antholz.
\nBut we also know that both weeks have cost a lot of energy and strength, and we are training a little bit reduced to give the athletes a recovery phase.
\nIn spite of everything, we will attack fully again in Antholz before the preparation for the World Championships begins.“<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While the German men traveled to Antholz with an unchanged team, there was a change in the women’s team. Marion Deigentesch will replace Anna Weidel due to her good performance in the IBU Cup at Arber. Furthermore, for all athletes who have not yet achieved the World Cup standard, such as Vanessa Hinz, Antholz is the last opportunity before the Championships in Poklujka.<\/p>\n

Johannes Thninges Boe: Leader of the overall standings Worldcup<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The question is also what can still change in Antholz in terms of the overall World Cup. The Norwegians are clearly dominating so far in any case. Johannes Thninges Boe has the lead in the men’s race, and only the biathletes from his own team can pose a threat to him. Sturla Laegreid, for example, is only 54 points behind the superstar, which, by the way, is exactly the number of points that are awarded for a second place in the World Cup. He is followed by Tarjei Boe and Johannes Dale, also from Norway. Only then there is variety with the Swede Sebastian Samuelsson and the two Frenchmen Jacquelin and Fillon Maillet. Also in the women’s event the strong nation is still Norway. Marte Olsbu Roiseland is still leading the ranking with 579 points, but the advantage over Tiril Eckhoff has already melted away. She is waiting with 560 points and can already take the lead in the next race. Sweden’s Hanna Oeberg is also in the starting blocks with 550 points. So we can look forward to exciting competitions and a dream setting in the Antholz Valley, even with the small downer of not being able to watch the games as a spectator in a fantastic atmosphere, but only in front of the TV.<\/p>\n

Ein kurzer Ausblick auf den Antholzer Weltcup<\/h4>\n

Nach den erfolgreichen Weltcup Tagen ( 2 Wochen ) in Oberhof geht es nun unter anderem f\u00fcr die Teams aus Norwegen, Frankreich und Russland weiter zur n\u00e4chsten Weltcup Station nach Antholz ITA, wo ab kommenden Donnerstag in der S\u00fcdtirol Arena weitere sechs Rennen auf dem Programm stehen. Nach den Siegen im th\u00fcringischen Traditionsort Oberhof, sind alle drei Nationen mit einer geh\u00f6rigen Portion Selbstvertrauen an den WM-Ort von 2020 angereist, und wollen an die Erfolge ankn\u00fcpfen. Die Damen und Herren bestreiten in Italien jeweils ein Einzel-,ein Massenstart -und ein\u00a0Staffelrennen.<\/p>\n

Wo in Antholz, in der S\u00fcdtirol-Arnea Alto Adige, dem h\u00f6chstgelegenen Biathlon-Stadion im Weltcup, im letzten Jahr noch Tausende Zuschauer auf der Trib\u00fcne die Weltmeister bejubelt hatten, herrscht in diesem Jahr Stille auf den R\u00e4ngen. Denn auch wie an allen anderen Stationen auch findet der Weltcup in diesem Jahr ohne Zuschauer statt. Antholz ist zudem die letzte Weltcup-Station, bevor es dann im Februar bei der Weltmeisterschaft in Pokljuka (SLO) um Medaillen geht.<\/p>\n

Die eine Herausforderung der Biathlon-Teams wird auf jeden Fall wie in jedem Jahr die H\u00f6he der Loipen im Austragungsort sein. Das bedeutet f\u00fcr die Sportler immer eine besonders hohe k\u00f6rperliche Belastung und in der Vorbereitung auf der Saison war f\u00fcr kaum eine Mannschaft, wegen der Reisbeschr\u00e4nkungen, ein Trainingslager in entsprechenden H\u00f6hen m\u00f6glich. Es bleibt also spannend welches Team sich am schnellsten darauf einstellen kann.<\/p>\n

Und was machen die Teams?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bei den Norwegern ist Erlend Bjoentegaard wieder ins Team zur\u00fcckgekehrt. Der Biathlet aus Oslo, der zuletzt mit einer harztn\u00e4ckigen Verletzung lange Zeit aussetzen musste, wusste in der letzten Woche in Oberhof mit guten Resultaten zu gefallen und rechnet sich eine Nominierung im Team f\u00fcr die WM aus.<\/p>\n

Mit den Ergebnissen aus beiden Weltcup Wochen in Oberhof, sind wir hoch zufrieden, und versuchen auch jetzt in Antholz wieder gute Rennen zu zeigen. Wir wissen aber auch, dass beide Wochen sehr viel Kraft und Energie gekostet haben und trainieren hier etwas reduziert, um den Sportlern eine Erholungsphase zu g\u00f6nnen. Trotz allem werden wir auch in Antholz wieder voll \u00a0angreifen, bevor dann die WM-Vorbereitung beginnt.\u201c<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

W\u00e4hrend die deutschen Herren mit unver\u00e4ndertem Kader nach Antholz gereist sind, gab es bei den Damen eine Ver\u00e4nderung. Auch ist die Frage was sich in Antholz in Sachen Gesamtweltcup noch \u00e4ndern kann. Ganz klar dominierend sind bis jetzt auf jeden Fall die Norweger. Johannes Thninges Boe hat die F\u00fchrung bei den Herren, gef\u00e4hrlich werden k\u00f6nnen ihm auch eigentlich nur die Biathleten aus dem eigenen Team. Sturla Laegreid zum Beispiel liegt nur 54 Punkte hinter dem Superstar, das sind \u00fcbrigens genau die Anzahl der Punkte, die es f\u00fcr einen zweiten Platz im Weltcup gibt. Ihm folgen dann ebenfalls aus Norwegen Tarjei Boe und Johannes Dale. Erst dann gibt es Abwechslung mit dem Schweden Sebastian Samuelsson und den beiden Franzosen Jacquelin und Fillon Maillet. Auch bei den Damen hei\u00dft die starke Nation weiterhin Norwegen. Marte Olsbu Roiseland f\u00fchrt mit 579 Punkten die Wertung noch an, doch der Vorsprung auf Tiril Eckhoff ist schon stark geschmolzen. Sie wartet mit 560 Punkten auf und kann im n\u00e4chsten Rennen schon die F\u00fchrung \u00fcbernehmen. Auch die Schwedin Hanna Oeberg steht mit 550 Punkten in den Startl\u00f6chern. Wir k\u00f6nnen uns also auf spannende Wettk\u00e4mpfe und eine Traumkulisse im Antholzer Tal freuen, auch mit dem kleinen Wermutstropfen, die Spiele nicht als Zuschauer in fantastischer Stimmung, sondern nur vor dem TV verfolgen zu k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n
