Russian women’s relay team wins in Antholz
The Russian women’s relay team won the World Championships rehearsal in the 4 x 6 km race and confirmed impressively the rising form of the last weeks. Outstanding once again were Evgeniya Pavlova as the start runner as well as Uliana Kaisheva, who did a good job as the final runner. The final athlete of the Russian team was able to fight off the strong competition and thus lead her team to the finish line as the winner ahead of the DSV girls. With the third place of France the women’s World Cup week in Antholz ends. From now on the focus is on the World Championships in Pokljuka, there are two hard weeks of preparation ahead. Co-favorite Norway did not get beyond the sixth place, had to go into the penalty loop already at the first shooting because of Karoline Knotten and did not recover from this. Unfortunately, the Norwegians showed again that relay is not their discipline. Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Olsbu Røiseland were able to make up some distance with a strong catch-up and were thus rewarded with their sixth place.

OUR TEAM WORKED GREAT TODAY AND WE WERE ABLE TO CONFIRM OUR GOOD FORM. WE WILL NOT REST, AND START PREPARING FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. OUR WHOLE TEAM IS VERY HAPPY ABOUT THIS VICTORY.

TO FINISH THE WORLD CUP HERE ON THE PODIUM AGAIN MAKES US ALL HAPPY. AT THE BEGINNING WE ALSO HAD TO DO A PENALTY LOOP LIKE NORWAY, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO CATCH UP AGAIN RELATIVELY QUICKLY. THE THIRD PLACE IS GREAT FOR US.

Russische Damenstaffel gewinnt in Antholz
Die russische Damenstaffel entscheidet die WM Generalprobe im 4 x 6 km Rennen für sich und bestätigt damit eindrucksvoll die aufsteigende Form der letzten Wochen. Überragend einmal mehr waren sowohl Evgeniya Pavlova als Startläuferin als auch Uliana Kaisheva, die als Schlussläufer einen guten Job ablieferte. Die Schlussläuferin des russischen Teams konnte sich gegen die starke Konkurrenz durchsetzen und somit ihr Team als Sieger vor dem DSV Quartett ins Ziel führen. Mit dem dritten Platz von Frankreich endet die Weltcup Woche der Damen in Antholz. Ab jetzt ist der Fokus auf der Weltmeisterschaft in Pokljuka, es stehen zwei harte Vorbereitungswochen auf die WM bevor. Mit-Favorit Norwegen kam über den sechsten Platz nicht hinaus, musste bereits beim ersten Schießen durch Karoline Knotten in die Strafrunde und erholte sich davon nicht mehr. Die Norwegerinnen zeigten leider erneut, dass die Staffel nicht ihre Disziplin ist. Tiril Eckhoff und Marte Olsbu Røiseland konnten durch eine starke Aufholjagd ein wenig Boden gut machen und sich versöhnend mit Platz sechs belohnen.

Unser Team hat heute super funktioniert und wir konnten unsere gute Form bestätigen. Wir werden uns nicht ausruhen, und mit der Vorbereitung auf die WM beginnen. Unser ganzes Team ist sehr happy über diesen Sieg.
Hier den Weltcup nochmal auf dem Podest zu beenden freut uns alle. Wir mussten anfangs ebenfalls einmal in die Strafrunde wie Norwegen, konnten aber wieder relativ schnell Anschluss finden. Der dritte Platz ist für uns top.
