Gloves are not something you buy every day. No wonder that almost no one can tell what size he or she has for cycling, skiing or cross-country skiing gloves. Yet all biking and skiing fans know how important it is that the glove fits perfectly and is wrinkle-free in order to function optimally. Glove specialist KinetiXx explains how to determine the right glove size.
The most sensible thing to do is to go to your trusted specialist store and try on the various glove models that come into question. Sometimes, however, there is no way around ordering your new cycling or winter sports gloves online or from a catalog. To avoid sending the small packages back and forth unnecessarily, it is important to know your glove size. This way, we don't unnecessarily increase our carbon footprint, cause more traffic jams on our highways, or increase the use of resources for packaging materials, fuel, or electricity for data lines.
Here we explain how to determine your glove size. The easiest way is with this template created by KinetiXx SchabloneYou can download them from the online store. Simply print them out according to the instructions, then place your hand on the template and read off your size. Done.
However, you can also use a tape measure that you place loosely around the widest part of your hand (without your thumb). If you don't have a tape measure at hand, you can also put a thread around your hand in the same way and measure the determined length with the help of a ruler (see picture). The value in cm determined in this way with the tape measure or thread can then be compared with the values in our conversion table below. For example, if you measured a hand circumference of 20 cm, your glove size is 7.5. If your measured hand circumference is between two sizes, choose the smaller size for cycling gloves, as they are made of elastic materials and adjust accordingly. For cross-country and alpine gloves, you can choose the larger size if in doubt. The additional air inclusion has an insulating effect. Since some manufacturers use US sizes, we have also taken these into account in the table. All sizes are unisex. In addition, you will also find a sizing chart for children's gloves below.
And if you do order from the online store. KinetiXx ships individual gloves or smaller quantities in so-called grass paper bags. These are made of sustainable and renewable organic material and can be easily reused afterwards, for example as organic waste bags. If a size does not fit, the glove can be returned in the same shipping bag by resealing it. This saves resources and our environment.
