Granerud wins in Nizhny Tagil

Today the second individual competition took place in wintry temperatures in Nizhny Tagil, Russia. After the victory of German Karl Geiger yesterday the Norwegian and last year's overall winner Halvor Egner Granerud could assert himself in today's jumping and jump to the top. With 235.3 points Granerud confirmed his lead from the first round and won sovereignly ahead of Karl Geiger with 226.5 points. Austrian Stefan Kraft, who did not qualify for the second round yesterday, moved up eleven places after an average first round and made it to the podium with third place and 223.8 points. 

With Geiger (2), Eisenbichler (8) and Leyhe (10) three German eagles finished in the top ten. The Polish superstars didn't show any top rankings today. Piotr Zyla showed the best Polish result on rank 16. Next weekend the hunt for the first World Cup points will continue in Ruka, Finland.
