The Skiroller summer events are around the corner and with the decreasing incidence numbers also the hope for the realization with spectators on site increases. Especially in the preparation period for the Olympic year, the athletes gratefully will start in the summer competitions and ensure top-class starter fields.
Blinkfestivalen Norwegen
From 05 to 08 August in Sandnes (Norway) will be held the Blink Festival. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2019, this is again the first international biathlon and cross-country skiing competition in Norway. Athletes from 13 different countries have announced and, according to the current entry conditions for August, can also enter Norway. Whether spectators are allowed is not yet determined, but the number of participants had to be limited. Registration for the competitions has been open since June 15 and big names of the best biathletes and cross-country skiers are expected. The elite competitions will be broadcast live on the Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
City-Biathlon Wiesbaden
On August 15, the capital of Hesse will once again be the place to be for all biathlon fans who can hardly wait for the World Cup in winter. Because then the top athletes will meet for the Citybiathlon in Wiesbaden. The good news for the organizer: Several thousand spectators will be able to watch the competitions live along the course. This is due to the comprehensive hygiene concept under strict conditions of the organizers. And some top-class participants have already confirmed their participation, first and foremost the Norwegian brothers Tarjei and Johannes Boe. The multiple world champions and overall World Cup winners will be fighting for the podium places with Erik Lesser from Oberhof and DSV athlete Roman Rees. Lukas Hofer from South Tyrol, Felix Leitner from Austria and Jakov Fak from Slovenia will also be competing. Karim Khalili, winner of the bronze medal at the World Championships in Pokljuka, will travel from Russia. In the women's event, the participants have not yet been determined, but a top lineup can be expected here as well. The spectators will be distributed to different zones in the park as well as behind the shooting range. So some can look forward to a great atmosphere and exciting competitions on site.
Summer Worldchampioships Biathlon Nove Mesto
After the last Biathlon Summer World Championships 2019 in Minsk-Raubichi, this one will be held in Nove Mesto na Morave from August 25 to 29, 2021. Both juniors and men's and women's competitions will be held in super sprint, sprint and pursuit. In total, the world champion titles will be awarded in 12 competitions.
Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival Annecy
Last year, the exceptional biathlete from France Martin Fourcade unfortunately had to cancel his festival in Annecy Le Grand Bornard. All the greater is the joy that it can take place this year from 4 to 5 September 2021 in the second edition. Already in 2019 at the first version, more than 15,000 spectators came to the outdoor area in front of the lake in Annecy and cheered on the top-staffed starting field of biathlon and cross-country skiing professionals. For this year, the participants have not yet been determined, but the fans can look forward to exciting competitions with top athletes and a fantastic backdrop.
FIS Rollski Worldchampionships Val die Fiemme
From September 16 to 19, 2021, after the Covid-19 "forced break" in 2020, the World Roller Ski Championships will again be held in Val di Fiemme (Italy). Interval- Sprint- Team Sprint and Mass Start competitions will take place on different stages. Thus, the world championship titles will be awarded to the best roller ski athletes in the roller ski stronghold.
